This is NOT a remix, but it IS pretty dope. People like Kanye & ?uestlove have been up on Rob Roy for a while now, me not so much. However I'm up on him before you (maybe?) so don't hate. Song's ill, video may be better.

Albany Firebirds Apparently Not Dog Lovers...

I came across some phenomenal news this afternoon. My 'home team', the team who's games I grew up attending with my father, who have risen like a Pheonix from the ashes of an even more sub-par Arenafootball2 team this '09 season, the Albany Firebirds, are going after Michael Vick!
Now this doesn't surprise me, after all they did retire 'Touchdown' Eddie Brown's jersey a few years back even after several run-ins with the law, and an apparant domestic dispute (this guy LITERALLY worked at my high-school after retiring from his 'illustrious' career in the arena league. Kids would torment him and call him 'Pushdown' Eddie Brown after reports that he pushed his girlfriend/wife/ho [who knows?] down a flight of stairs.) However, reaching out to Michael Vick, the latest national villian in pro sports, is just on some next level gully shit.
Apparently Vick, who is now bankrupt, must somehow donate $100,000 to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society as part of the deal? This is priceless...
Also, he must first be officially reinstated into the NFL before he can sign....
Also, AFL players make $200 a game, which may seem like a lot compared to the 12 cents an hour he is currently making assembling license plates or whatever they have him doing (dog grooming?), but to a man who used to have a $130 million contract this offer may not seem that inticing...
Now, while this may not be a realistic offer by the Firebirds (who are 0-5), it IS one of the funniest moves by a GM since..well...ever. If this deal somehow ever went through, I would seriously consider quitting my job in NYC, purchasing season tickets, and moving back to Albany. I don't support Vick or his actions in any way, but this move and the shit circus that would follow it would be too good to pass up.
Albany Firebirds, you are HARD BODY...

Remix of the Day
This rmx was dropped over a year ago, but I just came across it recently and find it still very relevant. B.B.'s take on Timbo's "Miscommunication". Hits hard, makes me wanna start slammin Jack & Cokes at Webster Hall.
Congressmen get arrested: This time no illegal sex acts invovled!
Today I'm happy to report some actual inspring and uplifting news from D.C. however. 5 lawmakers were arrested this afternoon outside the Sudan embassy in Washington, D.C., for crossing the police line during a demontration against the genocide in Darfur.
"You have to find a way to dramatize an issue," Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia) said while being led away by police, after his arrest along with Jim McGovern (D-Massachusetts), Donna Edwards (D-Maryland), Keith Ellison (D-Minnesota), and Lynn Woolsey (D-California). The congressmen (and women) were cuffed and led away after repeated warnings from police to back away.
While this may be construed as a political move by Republicans, the bottom line is it was a bold stand against a gross disregard for human rights that, no matter what the motive behind it, will certainly draw attention to a righteous and imortant cause. It is not every day that a high profile politician would put himself in this position and go through the bullshit of being arrested (been there) for a truly worthy cause.
John Lewis, 'this Bud's for you.'
